who are you talking to

Table of Contents

Oh my gosh, hi! So, okay, here’s the thing: we are literally, like, living through a crisis.

The world is in pain right now, and it’s actually making me so nauseousSeriously, when everything is just, like, robots telling us what’s cool and algorithms making art, and where we’re all so parasocially intimate that I feel like I’m dating everyone on my feed, the line between actually having a life and documenting one is just... poof. It’s gone. We aren’t people anymore, we’re Living Content. So my thing is I think we need a space to talk about culture with integrity and humanity.

It’s a lot of responsibility, but I’m taking it very seriously.

Some of my early readers, who are basically my soulmates, say I investigate culture with “total conviction,” “worsening methodology,” and “absolutely no awareness.” And honestly, I think that is the most beautiful thing anyone has ever said about me. Like, it’s my process! It’s art!

I truly feel in my soul that I might be the future of media.

What You’ll Get:

  • Deep Dives! I’m going to be, like, painfully honest about things I don’t fully understand
  • Vulnerability! It’s culture, but through the lens of someone who is really trying her best to be a good person
  • Unfiltered Truths! I’m going to say the things that everyone else is too "monetized" to admit
  • Pure Connection! It’s not just reading; we are communing through the screen

Who is “Nicole”?

I'm a writer and cultural critic based in London. When I’m not manifesting my next project, I'm probably in a tiny, gorgeous café in Marseille, processing my childhood, or doing a digital detox because my nervous system is just so sensitive. I studied improv for three weeks in 2019, and honestly it changed the way I move through the world. I believe pop culture is a mirror we hold up to society, and also that I have perfect bone structure for prestige cinema.

What my subscribers say

“I’ve never seen someone commit so hard to ideas that they clearly didn't research. It makes me feel like it’s okay for me to also just… not know things.”
“A specific brand of Gen Z noir and self-delusion.”
“Completely unhinged. It’s my Bible."

You should subscribe too!

I honestly feel like if you don't subscribe, we might be missing out on a truly sacred, intimate experience. I want us to be in a circle together, you know? Not a dictatorship (ew), but a circle where I’m in the middle and you’re all looking at me with total, unconditional support. Isn’t that what we’re all looking for?

If you find my perspective 'problematic,' please consider that projection may actually be your own shadow work that you haven't finished yet.

But please do send this to your friends.
